The Kennedy Burchill 3 Step Process
A will is a legal document that lets you decide how your estate should be distributed after your death. You can also use it to name the person who will take care of any minor children you have.
Step 1: Naming an Executor
The executor is the person who will take care of distributing your estate after your death, and it’s important to choose someone you trust and feel confident in their abilities.
Step 2: Choosing Beneficiaries
Naming beneficiaries on a will is a way to make sure that certain people receive money or property when you pass away. It’s important to think about what exactly you want to give them, whether it be money or specific items.
Step 3: Signing the Will
The final step in creating a will is to execute the document with your signature. This doesn’t mean signing it with your hand, it means signing with a pen. In order to have the document be legally binding, you must sign it in front of two witnesses who are at least 18 years old and not related to you or each other.
